Have been riding motorcycles and horses for over half a century and I have been ejected from both of them more than a few times.  In 1984, I moved my family from Bragg Creek, Alberta to Naramata, BC , where we opened Wild Rose Stables and later Bar CS Stables in Penticton.  After 24 consecutive years competing in the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association, I now enjoy snowmobiling and skiing all winter and riding my 2005 HD Electroglide Classic and playing baseball all summer.  I will ride for a day, a week or a month and I make my abest effort to keep my schedule open for any kind of option.  My wife and I enjoy camping and Sturgis, S.D. is one of our favourite rides.  Come and ride with us anytime.

I learned to ride when I was 17. (way back) I started out on a yamaha 100 and drove it till it was nearly dead. Took it in and traded if for a Kawi 350. What fun I had! My Dad had a 750 Kawi so I got to ride his too.
I  only rode for that one year.
Last summer  (08) I decided it was all about me. So I checked out the net for bikes for sale. The best deal I found was in Naniamo. So I hopped the bus and went to get it. Honda Shadow Spirit 750. I rode around the Island for a week then rode 'er home. So I guess you would say I am still a beginner rider!

Daryl Bakewell

I've been surviving Alberta winters since 1960 and have been fascinated by motorcycles since childhood. By age 12, I had saved enough newspaper money to buy my first bike, a little Honda. My first Harley came in 1981 and I now own a flathead, panhead, shovelhead, and an evo. Being old school. I enjoy doing my own maintenance and repair, and prefer riding the vintage bikes over the "too new '92"

My best bike trips have been tours in the US, but I have had many memorable trips through BC. I've been coming to the Valley to visit Denice for about 25 years and it has always felt like home to me.

In 1985 I met Cherry and have been crazy in love with her for the past 19 years. We were apart for 12 years but reunited in 2007 and in the spring of 2008 we made the Valley our home. Can life get any better? We now live in Summerland and look forward to meeting new friends.

My theory on riding is my theory on life; don't worry about the destination, we all get there sooner or later. Relax and enjoy the trip.

"Live to Ride - Ride to Live"
Retired May 31, 2002. Started riding June 2002 after taking the government safety course (highly recommend for all riders). Rode my Honda Shadow1100cc all across the eastern provinces and moved from Windsor Ontario, crossing the US Border at Detroit, Michigan. I traveled west thru several states to Washington & on up to beautiful British Columbia (Penticton), which translated means "A Place To Stay Forever".  Now isn't that the truth!!!  Lived here going on 4 years!! .......never looked back!!
In that short time, I met & married a beautiful woman!! I also bought a great new ride!!! ( Kawie VulcanCclassic 1500cc) and acquired a host of many great new friends. I've ridden in both in B.C. & the USA. Utah (Bryce canyon) & S Dakota, ( Crazy Horse,Mount Rushmore) are some of my favorite destinations....& Nevada, who can forget Las Vegas. LOL. Great little KOS Campground in the Circus Circus parking lot. Check it out!!!  You won't be sorry!!!

Next stop Oregon, California coast.

Life is Good ..................Retirement is even better.........Roy (gramma
